Smartphones have become an integral part of modern society, the widespread adoption of smartphones has revolutionized the way people live, work, and conduct business. Many researches have forecasted the number of smartphone users in Nigeria to grow more than 140 million by 2025. To further understand the smartphone penetration and App usage pattern of consumers, the Orange Business Intelligence Technology (ORBIT), a Tech unit of Orange Group, conducted a research on Smartphone penetration and Application usage in 12 major cities in Nigeria to gather data insights into the current smartphone ownership ratio and app usage.
Interestingly, out of 13340 respondents, we have 64% smartphone penetration with respondents interacting with various Apps ranging from Ecommerce, Banking, Fintech, social media, entertainment and others apps tracked in this research.
